Black and White cards

The black and white cards currently on display have been a huge success.
You have already had a sneak peek at them and now here are the ten cards in the series.
To make the cards we used 5 brand new rubber stamps from Stamp It, Doodlebug papers, Kaiser Resin Blossoms, Spellbinder Dies and our new favourite embellishment - coloured twine.

All items used to make these cards are available at Crafty Capers.

Quick and easy cards for the kids

Here is a collection of kids cards that not only look fantastic but are easy to put together.
When making cards for younger kids cards you want something that is easy to put together, doesn't take very long and is loved by both kids and adults.
The gorgeous collection of Cock-A-Doodle-Doo products from Kaiser does the trick.
We have used the 6.5" paper pad, Layered chipboard animals and the Collectables (which are printed die-cuts). The cards have been embellished with glittery split pins and cardboard stickers from American Craft.

All products used to make these cards are available from that amazing little craft shop called Crafty Capers.

More flowers.

Here are another 2 samples of how we used the organza flowers on our cards.
Both of these prints are from Bo Bunny - Ambrosia collection.
The 12" page comes with 4 printed sections on 1 side and a heap of other smaller matching pictures on the reverse. As the sheet is full of great prints on both sides and you want to cut them all up to put on a card or in your album most people end up buying 2 pages.
They make a very quick and easy card for when you need a card in a hurry or are great to cut up and put together to put in your card box so you have some spares.

All we have done is  separate the layers and put the print back together by mounting/double mounting the layers back in place. Above we have cut out part of the green section, turned it into a flap, put a piece of card behind it to stamp on and put it on a card base.
Below we have cut around the printed orange scalloped circle. We then used a scalloped die to remove a section from the larger orange layer and stamped on it. The yellow section is adhered onto the card base, the larger orange section is double mounted onto the card base and the stamped orange circle is adhered to the card base.
All items used on these cards are available at Crafty Capers

More boxes!!!!!

Here are some more samples of what our customers have been creating. After coming to our classes they went home and created these little works of art.

Kim used the same coloured foliage we used in class but changed the paper and used a Kaiser print - Madeline. The new colour combination gives it a whole new look.

The set of Sizzlit dies from Sizzix that we have been using in our box classes is - Flowers, Branches + Leaves. Don't forget that this set of dies will go through your Sizzix Big Shots machine as well as Cuttlebug machines. We currently have them in stock at Crafty Capers

Pam made these gorgeous colourful bunny baskets for Easter. I love the variety of colours she has used.

The pink and green ink used on Carol's box looks great together. Her stamped images come from a Stamp It set of stamps which is available from us and in store now.

Rhonda used a variety of punches in her box to instead of die-cuts. The punches along with the Serenity Bo Bunny paper look great together. This paper is currently in stock at Crafty Capers.

Robyn and Jill's Fabulous Fans

Hi all - Jill here. For those of you that don't know me, I design and teach at Crafty Capers and work behind the counter 2 days a week.
Robyn (one of our very clever customers) made the gorgeous pink fan card for Nat's birthday, and I loved it. I had to reproduce it as the design intrigued me!  The other two cards were the result.

As promised here are instructions for the fan featured on the cards pictured below.
Start with a paper strip measuring 8.0" x 2 1/4". Working with a long edge facing you, make score lines every 1/4" along the strip.
Use a suitable Fiskars border punch along the top edge then fold at all score lines. The first fold is a mountain fold then alternate valley and mountain folds along strip. Last fold should also be a mountain fold. All folds must be very crisp.
On the front of your fan, adhere a strip of double-sided tape over the first and last 1/4" panels. Fold these panels back behind the fan and adhere to base layer leaving a gap of about 1/4"-3/8" between the two panels. It may help to lay a ruler on the base beside where you want the fan to line up your panels. Apply a generous layer of white PVA glue such as Tombow Mono Multi where the rest of the fan will attatch; push fan down and adhere. Adhere a bow over the centre of the fan or a rhinestone into the gap.
Note - If you prefer to work in centimetres, the base strip would be 20cm x 6cm and the folds every 0.5cm.

The card below has been made using Kaiser printed paper, a Fiskars Lace border punch and Kaiser Lippy Red rhinestones. All these products are currently in stock at Crafty Capers.

The card below has been made with American Craft printed paper, a Fiskars Lacy Days of Summer border punch, Bazzill cardstock, a mini bow, and Kaiser Pearl Flourishes.
All of these products are currently in stock at Crafty Capers.
